N. WISCONSIN - The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is increasing patrols on ATV and UTV trails as part of its Think Smart Before You Start safety campaign.  DNR conservation wardens and county recreation deputies will monitor for speeding and operating while intoxicated as part of the accident reduction initiative.  The DNR website includes information about riding safely in Wisconsin and safety course registration.  Wisconsin had 15 ATV and UTV fatalities in 2026.
