MARENISCO – Austin Calderon is the new Marenisco police chief lifetime area resident Austin Calderon lives on Lake Gogebic, went to school in Marenisco, Gogebic Community College, where he studied law enforcement. He completed his law enforcement training at Nicolet College in Rhinelander. His law enforcement experience has all been in the area. Former Police Chief James Webber trained with Calderon and handed the keys over on May 30th. Township supervisor Bruce Mahler said the fact that Calderon has lived in the area most of his life and is committed to staying was something the townships board of trustees liked a lot
