GOGEBIC COUNTY - The Gogebic County Board Commissioners accepted a contract that will hopefully fill the need for medical examiner services in the area. A remote presentation by director of Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office in Anoka, Minnesota preceded the unanimous vote. Those services are slated to begin July 1st with the motion to end the county’s current contract for cause with the Michigan Institute of Forensic Science and Medicine in Saginaw was also passed, with commissioner James Lorenson commenting it went without saying that the board was not happy with the current service.
