IRONWOOD – A bit of a break in gas prices as the summer travel season gets underway. The state average is down 13 cents from a week ago, to $3.08 for a gallon of regular unleaded gas. That price is 17 cents less than this time last month and 48 cents less than this time last year. Michigan also sits below the national average, which is now $3.14 per gallon.  Around Upper Michigan, the lowest average is in Chippewa County at $2.93 per gallon. The highest is in Mackinac County at $3.34.  Ironwood prices at $3.11 per gallon as of this morning.
