MICHIGAN - The Michigan Department of Education announced Tuesday that improving mathematics and reading instruction will be the top priorities for its newly created Office of Curriculum and Instruction. The department said the office will continue implementing the state’s new literacy and dyslexia laws while also developing a statewide mathematics framework.  The office’s priorities also include expanding support for social studies and science instruction, along with continuing efforts to grow innovative and flexible learning opportunities for students.
