ONTONAGON COUNTY - The Michigan Department of Transportation started a $6.5 million resurfacing project in Ontonagon County yesterday.  About 5.5 miles of M-26 from US-45 to the M-38 west junction will be resurfaced throughout the summer.  One lane of alternating traffic will be open on M-26 using traffic regulators. Temporary traffic signals will be in place during certain drainage work.  Work includes asphalt milling and resurfacing, culvert wingwall replacement, concrete curb and gutter, drainage, guardrail and pavement markings.  According to a release from MDOT, the project will continue until Monday, Oct. 3.
