N. WISCONSIN - The longest-serving governor in Wisconsin is backing republican candidate Tom Tiffany for the upcoming governor’s race.  Tommy Thompson announced Friday he is supporting Tiffany and he believes Tiffany is the right leader for Wisconsin.  There are about 10 democratic candidates running in the race.  The primary to narrow down the field of candidates for the Wisconsin governor race will be Aug. 11.  Thompson, who is 84, was elected governor in 1986. He served until 2001, when he left office to become former President George W. Bush’s secretary of Health and Human Services.
