LANSING - New data says Michiganders have increased their rate of recycling for the fifth consecutive year.  In an Earth Day press release from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy announced that new data analysis says the recycling rate is once again at a record high for Michigan.  The numbers show that from fiscal year 2024 to 2025, Michigan residents increased their recycling to a total of 800,940 tons which is roughly the equivalent of each Michigan resident recycling roughly 158 pounds each for the year.  EGLE attributes the state’s success to recycling campaigns that change behaviors and increase confidence surrounding recycling.
