UPPER MICHIGAN - Gas prices have dropped 9 cents over the past week in Michigan but still remain higher than last year. That's according to the latest information from AAA Michigan. According to AAA, the average gas price in the state is now $3.87 per gallon, which is 60 cents more than this time last month and 63 cents more than this time last year. Most expensive gas price in the U.P. is in Marquette County $4.02 the lowest in Alger County at $3.93. Ironwood prices at $3.97 this morning, Hurley prices at $3.99, Mercer $3.79, Ashland $3.63 and the lowest price we could find in the region is in Mellen at $3.59 a gallon as of this morning.
