IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP – The Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office releasing more information regarding the death of a 2-year-old in Ironwood Township.  Yesterday just after 4:30 in the morning police were called to Sunset Road near the intersection of Lake Road to a report of a deceased child.  Responding deputies began assessing the child for signs of life, however it was confirmed the child was deceased.  The area around Lake and Sunset Road was closed for much of the day yesterday as the investigation took place.  The roads around that area reopened late yesterday afternoon.  Police say they will release more information following their investigation.  Several agencies are involved in that investigation.
