MADISON - Gov. Tony Evers signed a bill into law to extend postpartum Medicaid coverage from 60 days to a full year for low-income mothers and babies, making Wisconsin the 49th state in the country to expand coverage.  Expanded postpartum coverage will be available starting on July 1, after a standard review period and approval of the state plan amendment by the Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services.  The Wisconsin Senate passed the bill unanimously and the Assembly passed the legislation 95-1. Republican state Rep. Shae Sortwell cast the lone dissenting vote.
