MARQUETTE - To find out why population growth of the Michigan bull moose has slowed in recent years the DNR is partnering with Northern Michigan University and the KBIC for a new study.  Over the next two years, researchers will be fitting 60 moose with new tracking equipment that can provide precise data including survival, reproduction and immigration. DNR wildlife researchers say the slowing of population growth prompted the study.  As part of the partnership, NMU will have a graduate student working alongside the DNR and KBIC during the study.
