ASHLAND - Friends of the Ashland man injured when he was hit head-0n by a driver trying to escape a sheriff’s officer in January have started a GoFundMe page to help him deal with the injuries he sustained in the accident. Nathan Bard and his 10-year-old daughter were injured in the crash, the person trying to escape was killed. Bard is now recovering from surgery to repair two broken hips, a broken femur and other injuries. Bard is an avid pool and darts player, so the Airport Inn hosted a darts tournament on his behalf and the Barrel Inn hosted a pool tournament as fundraisers to help with medical expenses. Bard’s friend Dan Halverson organized the events and was pleased as nearly 50 people attended. Donations can still be made to the GoFundMe page. So far, about three quarters of the page’s goal has been reached.
