MADISON - Tonight, Gov. Tony Evers will deliver his 2025-27 biennial budget from the Wisconsin State Capitol. Since his State of the State of address, Gov. Evers has already shared some budget plans. Those plans include supporting farmers and farm operations statewide. Earlier this month, Evers announced his plans to invest more than $80 million to support Wisconsin farmers. Additionally, Evers plans to invest over $145 million to address PFAS contamination across Wisconsin, including private wells for municipalities. According to the Department of Administration, the General Fund has an undesignated balance of $4.622 billion as of the end of the 2024 fiscal year. That means the state has a surplus of about $4.3 billion. Evers who is 73 years old, has not yet said if he’ll seek a third term.
