MARINETTE - A newly filed criminal complaint reveals more chilling details on what authorities say happened to Gabriella Cartagena before her boyfriend allegedly shot and killed her.  Court documents filed Friday state that on February 4, around 5:00 p.m., The 24-year-old woman’s boyfriend, Robert Chilcote and Cartagena left Cartagena’s home to get juice. Nearly two hours later, Cartagena’s mother gets a call. She later told police she heard scuffling on the phone and her daughter saying “I’m sorry. Don’t shoot me. I didn’t do nothing,” before the line went dead.  About twenty minutes after that call, Cartagena’s mother told police she got a text message from her daughter stating she’s at Walmart, where she worked, in a meeting. The complaint said it was later determined Cartagena was never at Walmart.  Then Just after 8 p.m., the complaint states Chilcote returns to Cartagena’s residence, telling Cartagena’s mother that he and Cartagena had an argument and he came to the home to retrieve his belongings.  At 10:00 p.m., Chilcote clocked in at Walmart where he also worked. The complaint states surveillance shows him spending 4 minutes at his car trunk before entering the store to quit his job citing “personal reasons” and leaves.  Cartagena’s family reported her missing the following morning on February 5 after she didn’t come home.  Cartagena was found dead just over the Michigan state line last Tuesday. Her boyfriend, Robert Chilcote, is charged with Cartagena’s murder. He was arrested following a high-speed police pursuit in Minnesota.  Chilcote is still in Minnesota awaiting an extradition hearing.
