VILAS COUNTY - No injuries were reported as a result of a house fire in Vilas County last night. Vilas County officials say the call came in at 6:44 p.m. to a home in the Township of St. Germain. The first responders arrived on the scene to find heavy smoke and visible flames coming from the structure.  According to a press release, the homeowner was home at the time of the fire and was able to evacuate the house before calling 911. Fire officials say the fire appears to have started in the kitchen, spreading throughout the house into the attic. The structure reportedly received heavy damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
