GOGEBIC / ONTONAGON COUNTIES – Deer Kill numbers over the weekend. Since Friday morning there were 150 deer harvested in Gogebic County for a total of 363 so far this season (314 antlered and 49 antlerless) according to the DNR website just before sunrise this morning. In Ontonagon County numbers show 219 total deer harvested since Friday morning for a total of 570 (507 antlered and 63 antlerless). Michigan hunters are reminded to report deer kills to the DNR on their website or through the DNR app. Preliminary harvest numbers for Northern Wisconsin Counties for opening weekend are not yet available. Last year, over 190,000 deer were taken during the 9-day hunt in Wisconsin, according to the DNR. The Michigan and Wisconsin gun deer season runs until the end of the month.
