PINE LAKE - Authorities say one person has died and another was injured in a crash Monday afternoon north of Rhinelander.  Around 1 p.m., deputies responded to a call of a two-vehicle crash on Highway 17 just south of the intersection of Mud Lake Road. Upon arriving at the scene, it appeared that the accident was a head-on collision, and the operator of the southbound vehicle had died. The operator if the northbound vehicle was also injured and transported to Rhinelander Aspirus Hospital and then flown to Wausau for treatment of their injuries.  The crash remains under investigation.
