IRONWOOD – Ironwood digging out from the biggest Lake Effect snow event so far this season.  Lake effect snow showers started Saturday night with moderate to heavy snow at times and continued into this morning.  The heaviest snow now in the central UP from Marquette into Alger Counties.  In the Western U.P. Snow belt we will see snow wrap up by midday.  Snow, however, not expected to stick around, a warmup is expected by the end of the week with highs back to normal in the 40s.  Over the weekend we picked up 6 and a half inches of snow at our Ironwood studios.
