WAKEFIELD – Strong winds caused power outages in Wakefield yesterday.  The outage yesterday started just after 1:30 affected the entire downtown Wakefield area while other areas around town had issues with flickering power.  Power was restored about 2 hours later just after 3:00.  Power crews say an issue involving a power line and transformer near the intersection of Smith Street and Hancock Street was the cause.
