VILAS COUNTY - Boulder Junction residents remain divided over whether to allow ATVs and UTVs on town roads. Supporters cited tourism and economic benefits, while opponents raised concerns about safety, noise, and impacts on the forest and nonmotorized recreation. The town has rejected similar proposals for nearly a decade. Boulder Junction and Manitowish Waters remain the only Vilas County townships prohibiting UTVs on town roads.
