N. WISCONSIN - A disabled vessel stranded in Saxon Harbor was rescued by the Coast Guard Monday afternoon. Bravo Zul of the Bayfield Coast Guard Station received the distress call around 4:30 pm. A poor cell phone connection and deteriorating conditions prompted the crew to enter the distress phase. A Coast Guard craft was able to tow the 16’ vessel back to Saxon Harbor. Coast Guard officials remind those planning to head out on the water to be sure they have multiple forms of communication and that the Coast Guard can be reached on Ch16 on marine radios.
