VILAS COUNTY - One of the items on the Vilas County Board’s meeting agenda tomorrow are resolutions for two amendments to the County’s Motorized Recreational Trails and Routes ordinance. One of the amendments authorizing the use of stretches of county highway in the town of Plum Lake for all terrain vehicle (ATV) and utility task vehicle (UTV) use was submitted by the Plum Lake town board. The other would authorize the use of stretches of county roads in Winchester. The main difference is that the second request was made by the town of Presque Isle for the use of county roads in Winchester, to allow for all of highway W to be open to ATVs and UTVs and for a more direct route to Iron County.
