GOGEBIC COUNTY, Mich. - One person is in jail, and two others are scheduled for sentencing for charges related to a May Gogebic County drug trafficking investigation. Court records show Layla Filipek, of Two Rivers, Wis., was sentenced last week in Gogebic County Circuit Court for one count of delivery of meth. She has been ordered to serve a minimum of 10 months in jail and 3 years of probation after a plea agreement. Filipek was arrested alongside Shane T. Reinfelder, 39, of Pickford and Isaac Sawyer, 31, of Milwaukee, WI after a Gogebic Iron Area Narcotics Team investigation found that the three were involved in a plan to bring methamphetamine to Gogebic County for distribution. Reinfelder is charged with 6 felonies as a result of the arrest he has entered a plea agreement, pleading guilty to one count of delivery of meth and one count of possession of a narcotic. He is scheduled for sentencing on Nov. 6. Sawyer was charged with one felony count of assaulting a police officer and one misdemeanor count of assault and battery. Court records show he is expected to appear in Gogebic County Circuit Court for an unspecified hearing on Nov. 20, followed by a pretrial hearing on Dec. 9.
