BAYFIELD - The Washburn School District will ask voters on November 3 to approve a $4.8 million, four-year operating referendum. Superintendent Denise Michaelsen says previous budget cuts have reduced bus routes and the four-K program. The first-year cost is estimated at $123 per $100,000 of property value, increasing to $1.5 million annually by 2029-30. If voters reject the measure, the district faces a projected $700,000 shortfall and potentially more staff and program cuts.
