VILAS COUNTY - Cooler weather is not far off and Warm the Children in Vilas County is ready to take applications from families in need of assistance. Once processed by Vilas County Social Services, the applying family will be contacted to schedule a date and time to shop for the warm clothing they’ll need for this winter. Foster families automatically qualify but still must fill out an application. Shopping starts Saturday November 2nd and runs through mid-December. The public is encouraged to donate warm clothing, and volunteers are needed to shop with local families. Monetary donations are also welcome and help defray administrative costs. Checks should made out to: Warm the Children” can be mailed to the Vilas County News-Review or can be dropped at the paper’s office in Eagle River.
