IRONWOOD - Efforts are underway to revive the Copper Peak ski jump and bring international competitions and winter tourism back to the area.

Current renovations include pouring a 2.1-acre concrete landing surface, an engineering challenge, with completion expected around 2028. The Copper Peak project is supported by a $20 million state grant, but it still needs additional private funding to complete. Organizers are excited about the opportunity to bring the sport back to the area, encourage local residents to experience the facility now to take advantage of the best leaf peeping in the U.P., and donate.
