MICHIGAN - Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-Michigan) gave an address in Canada Wednesday focused on economic policy between our two countries.  At the address at the Empire Club in Toronto, Gov. Whitmer was critical of tariffs and urged collaboration between Michigan and Canada.  Sen. Ed McBroom (R-38th State Senate District) responded to her remarks. He says he agrees Canada is a crucial partner and says, generally, what’s good for Canada is good for the U.S.  But he says Canadian policy is unfair to some industries in Michigan.  Sen. McBroom says he will continue to advocate for fair policy between the U.S. and Canada that benefits Michiganders.
