WAKEFIELD - A new elevator is the goal of a fundraising effort put on by the residents of Keen-Agers Adult Foster Care in Wakefield. Administrator Cindy Giackino says the home applied for a grant and has put up a GoFundMe page to help finance the replacement of the only elevator in the building. For the last two months the lift has been broken and residents have had to use the stairs. Because the facility is privately run, it doesn’t qualify for state assistance or additional funding. Having to use the stairs presents a number of challenges, for residents and for ambulance and other services that must help residents access their rooms. The goal for the elevator is $30,000 with about $2000 having already been raised. The GoFundMe page is listed under Donate to Keep Keen Agers Thriving.  https://www.gofundme.com/f/donate-to-keep-keenagers-thriving?qid=19f2d102e60f759d4bde8954045f9a42
