MADISON - State lawmakers are introducing legislation that would allow sextortion victims to file civil lawsuits against their predators.  Rep. Brent Jacobson (R-Mosinee) and Sen. Jesse James (R-Thorp) are introducing the bill, which expands on Bradyn’s Law that made sextortion a felony last month.  The new bill gives victims and families another way to address the damage caused by sextortion. Victims can sue to recover damages for injury, emotional distress or loss of property. The legislation also allows parents or guardians to file wrongful death lawsuits if the victim commits suicide.
