IRONWOOD - Nurses at Aspirus Ironwood have voted to ratify a new union contract at Aspirus Ironwood Hospital.  In a press release yesterday Aspirus says Ironwood nurses voted on Jan. 14 to approve the contract which takes effect immediately and runs through July 19, 2028.  The agreement maintains the wage structure, which rewards nurses’ experience and guarantees annual raises for all. It includes an increase in on-call and night shifts, a cap on how much nurses pay for health insurance, and it improved the language around employer disclosure of workplace violence incidents.  The new contract doesn’t include Aspirus reopening the OB unit in Ironwood, but the Michigan Nurses Association union says they will continue to fight to bring it back.
