N. WISCONSIN - Wisconsin's Severe Weather Awareness Week is this week. A statewide tornado drill is scheduled for Thursday, the 16th, at 1:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m., but may be postponed if severe weather is forecast. This week is for reviewing and developing severe weather plans. A NOAA weather radio is the best source for watches and warnings. The drill will no longer include an Emergency Alert System (EAS) test, meaning no cellphone alerts, though local sirens may still be tested. Now is the time to practice shelter plans, prepare emergency kits, plan communication, and prepare pets and neighbors. Visit Readywisconsin.wi.gov for more information.

MADISON - Wisconsin lawmakers will return to Madison today for a special session called by Gov. Tony Evers to vote on a constitutional amendment to ban partisan gerrymandering in the state.  Evers said he is “hopeful” Republicans, who control the legislature, will vote in favor of his constitutional amendment, but it remains uncertain if those lawmakers will support the measure.  Republicans have historically responded to Evers’ special sessions by gaveling in and immediately gaveling out without passing anything.
