UPPER MICHIGAN - Michigan’s Republican U.S. Senate Candidate Mike Rogers made a campaign stop in Marquette yesterday.  Rogers outlined several issued and his plans to address problems to Michigan’s education system, which he says ranks 45th in the nation, the need to bring more industry back to Michigan as well as touching on housing issues in the state as protesters rallied outside.  The visit just one week after Democratic Abdul El-Sayed also visited Marquette. Rogers on a state-wide bus tour right now ahead of the November 3^rd election.  Michigan voters who want to vote in person before the mid-term election can begin doing so Saturday.  County officials say the experience will be similar to what voters expect on Election Day.

N. WISCONSIN - A federal judge has ordered the Trump administration to halt investigations in nine states including Wisconsin into whether noncitizens are registered to vote. The U.S. District Court Judge found the effort is relying on data that’s full of errors and that it’s intimidating groups doing voter assistance efforts halting investigations until the polls close on Election Day, Nov. 3.  The ruling comes as the Trump administration has been hunting for noncitizen voters throughout the country in the months leading into the midterm elections. The Department of Homeland Security said it has no plans to investigate people it believes are U.S. citizens.

N. WISCONSIN - The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources confirmed the first positive test result for chronic wasting disease in a wild deer in Marinette County near Peshtigo, yesterday. This will extend the three-year ban on baiting and feeding in Marinette County.  No bans have been placed in the Michigan counties that are neighboring Marinette County for now.  CWD sampling locations can be found on the Wisconsin DNR’s CWD Sampling webpage.  In Iron County there is a self-service kiosk at the Oma Town Hall on Highway 51 and at the Mercer Ranger Station.  Another in Ashland County at the DNR Service Station in Ashland and in Bayfield County at the Bayfield County Forestry Shop in Washburn.
