WASHINGTON (AP) — Donald Trump was elected as the 47th president of the United States early this morning. With a win in Wisconsin declared at about 4:30 this morning, Trump cleared the 270 electoral votes needed to clinch the presidency.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Republican Rep. Jack Bergman won reelection to a U.S. House seat representing Michigan last night. Bergman represents Michigan's entire Upper Peninsula and much of northern Michigan. Bergman defeated Democratic challenger Callie Barr. The Associated Press declared Bergman the winner at 11:10 a.m. last night.
LANSING – Michigan US Senate seat a virtual tie this morning Republican Mike Rogers
and Democrat Elissa Slotkin both at 48.5% of the vote. Slotkin with a slight 4,600 vote edge in the statewide voting. That race is too early to call right now.
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — It’s still too early to declare a winner in Wisconsin’s hotly contested U.S. Senate race that pit two-term Democratic incumbent Tammy Baldwin against Republican Eric Hovde. Republicans seized control of the U.S. Senate late last night after flipping Democratic held seats in Ohio and West Virginia.

UPPER MICHIGAN – In the race for the State House - District 110 Republican Gregory Markkanen holding onto his seat easily beating Kim Corcoran the Democrat from Ironwood with 63.2% of the vote. The total numbers show Markkanen with a total of 30,485 votes over Corcoran’s 17,761.
GOGEBIC COUNTY – Gogebic County Sheriff Jorge Cruz the winner with 69.4% of the vote over Gabe Justinak. Total Vote count Cruz with 5,136 votes over Justinak with 2,263 votes. In the race for Gogebic Community College Board of Trustees Eric Fitting the top vote getter with 36.8% of the vote William Malloy also won a seat on the board with 31.8% of the total vote. Only 38 votes separate Malloy with Michael Meyer of Ironwood. The Gogebic County School Proposal easily passed with 73.8% saying yes. For Bessemer township supervisor a close vote with Jeffrey Randal winning by 8 over Cystal Suzik. Another close rase for Bessemer Township Trustee with Steven Selin the top vote getter with 437 votes and Beverly Ikola with 336 votes both winning seats. 7 votes separate Ikola and Susan Roberts. The Wakefield Marenisco School District Sinking fund millage passing with 65.9% voting yes. Gogebic County Board of Supervisors District 3 Dan Wood unseating Jim Byrns 547 to 479. District 1 Dan Siirila winning 753 over Darrin Kimbler 533. District 6 Michael Yon defeating Bob Orlich 305 to 57 votes. Ironwood Township Treasurer Maria L. Graser (D) the winner over Brett Imwalle 899 to 509. Ironwood Township Trustee Kathy Jo Koval the top vote getter with 917 votes. The board will be made up of Brenda Aili-Angus, Bev Michaels and James J. Simmons Jr. Watersmeet Township Supervisor Yvonne Clark defeated Mike Rogers by 51 votes. Watersmeet Township Clerk goes to Kirsten Boehm with 54.4% of the total vote, Watersmeet Township Trustee seats go to Simon Zelinski and John T. Oliver III. Watersmeet Township Schools Board Member now include Michelle Hazen, Toni Edwards-Williams, Priscilla Smith and Lisa Rogers.
