N. WISCONSIN - The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority has awarded $100K to the Chequamegon Bay United Impact Land Trust. The land trust is the result of a collaborative effort between the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority and several local municipalities and tribes as part of the organization’s Rural Affordable Workforce Housing Pilot Initiative. Part of the grant will be used by the non-profit to hire its first executive director. Once the executive director has been hired, CheqBUILT will start fundraising to bring five homes into the trust next year. The homes will then be made available to income-qualified buyers.
