UPPER MICHIGAN - In a move designed to help support the outdoor recreation industry in the central U.P., a public-private collaborative has formed. The Outdoor Recreation Innovation Action Network or ORIAN will focus on helping the region adapt and diversify and develop a strategic framework for the growth of the outdoor recreation industry. The collaboration has formed with the help of a $320,000 grant from the federal Economic Development Administration. The Keweenaw Bay Indian Community, Jacquart Fabrics and Storm Kromer, and The Michigan Department of Natural Resources are just a few of the agencies, businesses and organizations participating in the collaborative.
