HURLEY - Beginning at the end of June, the Hurley Police Department started getting calls regarding vehicle break-ins, garage break-ins and thefts in the city of Hurley. During the investigation into these incidents, officers determined that a 16-year-old from Ironwood was responsible. That juvenile was taken into custody and transported to a juvenile facility. The department said three counts of burglary and four counts of theft were referred to the Iron County Department of Human Services.

The juvenile’s name is being withheld. However, the department said they have been involved in similar incidents. The juvenile may face additional charges as the investigation is still ongoing and officers are still gathering information. Anyone with further information is asked to call the Hurley Police Department at (715) 561-3544.

The Hurley Police Department thanks everyone who has provided information in this investigation and reminds the public to stay safe and lock homes, garages, and vehicles.
