IRONWOOD - A $5,000 grant from the Xcel Energy Foundation is helping students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) programs at Gogebic Community College gain hands-on experience while preparing for careers in high-demand industries. The Xcel Energy Foundation funding is designed to increase student retention in STEM fields through directed research projects. Students are recruited from the college’s student body and awarded scholarships to participate in applied learning experiences.
