IRONWOOD – The Michigan average gas price is up 7 cents from a week ago following the Thanksgiving travel period. Drivers statewide are now paying an average of $3.08 per gallon for regular unleaded gas. Despite the latest increase, that price is still 11 cents less than this time last month, and 4 cents less than this time last year. The national average sits 3 cents lower than the state, at $3.05 per gallon.  Around Upper Michigan, the lowest average is in the City of Ironwood and in Menominee County at $2.81 per gallon. The highest is in Chippewa County at $3.26 per gallon.
